Sutton Coldfield Train Services
Sutton Coldfield train station is around a seven-minute walk for me (but I am only 5’1 so you would probably be quicker :o)
There is a frequent service into Birmingham New Street which takes from just 18 minutes and from there you an get to basically anywhere you care to name! Here are some links which might be of help but if you are impatient (like me) just call National Rail Enquiries on 08457 48 49 50 (local rate call), they are really helpful and will almost certainly find the information before you could using the websites!
For train routes, location information and timetable (until 11/6/05) go to http://www.centraltrains.co.uk/timetables/20041122132211-112/XCity%20Dec04.pdf
To book train tickets go to http://www.virgintrains.co.uk/default.aspx
or

Other common destinations are Lichfield, which takes 17 minutes, and the University which is just 30 minutes! So you really can benefit from living in such a lovely place whilst also being able to get wherever you need very quickly – the best of both worlds!
